Watches and Wonders 2024: Discover The New Watch Releases For 2024
The largest and most important annual event in the watch industry, the Watches and Wonders fair got underway in Geneva today (Tuesday 9th April) with some of the world biggest horology brands revealing their new designs for the year.
Organised by the Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation (WWGF), the seven-day show will be dedicated to the professional watch trade for the first four days and the general public for the final three days, showcasing the finest timepieces merging modern mastery with proud heritage. World-leading luxury brands like Rolex, Patek Philippe, DiW and Hublot are all in attendance with elaborate booths housing new designs in glass display cases.
Here’s a quick run-through of the most exciting new drops for 2024.
Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers – The Berkley Grand Complication
SWM Partner Vacheron Constantin have redefined the art of horology with the most complex watch in the world. Stemming from 11 years of development, including a year entirely devoted to its assembly, Les Cabinotiers – The Berkley Grand Complication is a milestone in contemporary watchmaking history. Combining Chinese calendar months, astrology, world time and a Gregorian perpetual calendar, the 2,877 components – including the invisible convolutions of the mechanism – result in a watch where complexity contributes to its overall elegance and harmony.
Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time – 7920V/210R-B965 41mm Pink Gold
This 18K 5N pink gold watch features complications that assist the daily life of the traveler: a dual time zone combined with a day-night indicator and a date hand. Its self-winding movement offers a power reserve of nearly 3 days. Thanks to its pin buckle and three straps – 18K 5N pink gold, leather, and rubber – equipped with a self-interchangeable system, the watch can be personalised according to the owner’s wishes.
Rolex GMT-Master II
Featuring the same split-colour black and grey bezel as last year’s releases, the new Rolex GMT-Master II 126710GRNR pairs a fresh new bezel with the green GMT hand and dial text, enveloped within a 40mm Oystersteel case fitted with a flat sapphire crystal and solid screw-drown caseback giving it 100m of water resistance.
Rolex Perpetual 1908 Platinum 52506
One of the finest-looking dress watch designs from Rolex, the 1908 family evokes old school sophistication. The new release of the watch features a striking icy blue dial with a rice-grain guilloche pattern adding sublime texture for effortless wear.
Rolex Deepsea
Dive into statement style with this stunning new release. The Rolex Deepsea in yellow is a 3,900m (12,800ft), 44mm wide watch wrapped in 18k yellow gold, with an 18k yellow gold bracelet and distinctive blue Cerachrom bezel. Weighty, wearable and incredibly luxurious.
Patek Philippe 5330G-001 World Time Date
See the world on your wrist with this limited-edition design now put into regular production. The World Time Date is a real beauty – boasting a classic blue bezel and calfskin strap and thick case, making for excellent wrist presence, while the city ring and 24-hour indicator allow the instant reading of the time in 24 time zones.
Patek Philippe Reference 5236P-010
Classic, refined and simple, the Patek Philippe Reference 5236P-010 is a certified year-round wear. The platinum case was fully polished by hand and sits between a neat shiny brown alligator leather strap with a platinum fold-over clasp.
Patek Philippe Reference 4910/1201R-010
Patek Philippe also unveiled a new women’s timepiece in the Twenty~4 collection, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The rose gold cuff-style watch pays homage to the original timepiece, with a quartz movement and embossed pattern coated with translucent lacquer aching a sumptuously shiny rich purple hue.
Hublot Classic Fusion Original 29 and Classic Fusion 29
With the signature utilitarian rubber strap and polished black lacquer dials, the Hublot brand has expanded their lineup with the new Hublot Classic Fusion Original 29mm watches – offering a smaller wear for those that prefer a subtle yet fierce, completely timeless piece.
Hublot Square Bang Unicorn Magic Gold
The Square Band delivers the brand’s distinctive hallmark on horology in a bolder, more distinctive silhouette that foregrounds advanced materials and a sandwich-style case that will be sure to turn heads.
