Where Luxury Meets Legacy: A Penthouse for Manchester’s Sporting Elite
When Kew Interior Design first began, the idea was simple: to create interiors that feel like home. Not just visually polished spaces, but places where people can live comfortably, connect, and feel at ease. Their recent projects capture that ethos, very different in scope, but each one guided by the same principle: listening closely to clients and translating their needs into thoughtful design.
A Penthouse on a Quick Turnaround
One of their most exciting challenges this year was a penthouse apartment in Manchester. The brief was all about speed, the owners needed the space ready to move into in 8 weeks, but they did not want to compromise on quality.
The team focused on bringing warmth and texture into the apartment so that it would not feel like just another sleek, impersonal city flat. Bespoke headboards became anchor points in the bedrooms, giving each room its own character. They then layered in fabrics such as velvets, linens, and wools so the spaces felt inviting rather than rushed. Using a palette of warm tones helped soften the overall look, giving the apartment a sense of comfort and belonging.
It was one of those projects that proved quick turnarounds do not have to mean cutting corners. With the right choices, a space can feel both elegant and lived-in.
A Family Home in St Albans
At the other end of the spectrum, the team has been working on a large family house in St Albans. This has been a slower, more detailed process, where they are creating bespoke joinery for several of the family rooms.
The joy of this project lies in its variety. One room is being turned into a gaming space, designed to be playful, practical, and somewhere the children can make their own. Another is a cinema snug, where the whole family can curl up together for film nights. Each space has a different purpose, but they are all tied together by the same focus: making sure the house works for the family who live there.
Designing these rooms has meant thinking carefully about how people use them day to day. It is not about show homes or rigid design rules, it is about making sure that, whether someone is gaming, relaxing, or spending time together, the space supports that experience.

Finding the Balance
Working on both of these projects side by side has been a reminder of why the team loves what they do. One required fast decisions and clever shortcuts that did not feel like compromises. The other is about patience, detail, and building a home piece by piece. Both, however, share the same heartbeat: creating spaces that reflect the people who live in them.
For Kew Interior Design, the work is not about a signature look. It is about the stories behind each home, the lives, habits, and personalities that shape them. Whether they are installing a bespoke headboard or sketching out joinery for a cinema room, their aim is always the same: to design with care, with imagination, and with heart.
