Bulgari’s Rodeo Drive Flagship Continues to Define Luxury Retail in Beverly Hills
When Bulgari unveiled its new flagship on Rodeo Drive earlier this year, it marked more than a simple relocation. Just a few doors from its previous address, the maison introduced a significantly expanded boutique at 401 Rodeo Drive, reaffirming its long term confidence in the United States luxury market and strengthening its presence in one of the world’s most recognisable shopping destinations.
Spanning 5,834 square feet across multiple levels, the flagship has been conceived as a complete expression of the Bulgari universe. High jewellery, fine jewellery, timepieces, fragrances and handbags are presented within a series of curated spaces that balance retail with hospitality, including a private client salon and a rooftop terrace reserved for intimate events and private appointments.
The project forms part of a wider expansion across the United States. In recent years Bulgari has opened and renovated boutiques across Southern California, alongside new locations in San Francisco and Miami, reflecting the brand’s growing focus on North America as a key driver of luxury growth.
Roman Heritage, Reinterpreted for Beverly Hills
Architecture and craftsmanship play a central role in the identity of the new flagship. The boutique’s façade is defined by a handcrafted glass lattice composed of more than 1,100 Rosetta motifs, inspired by a Bulgari bracelet originally created in the 1930s. The repeating geometric pattern reflects daylight across Rodeo Drive while creating a warm illuminated presence in the evening.
Inside, the boutique blends the house’s Roman heritage with contemporary Californian elegance. Travertine columns, fluted walls and amber toned finishes reference materials associated with Bulgari’s Roman roots, while curved marble display tables and open salons introduce a softer, more residential atmosphere.
A striking staircase installation forms the visual centrepiece of the interior. Created with Italian glassmaker Venini, the structure is composed of more than 1,400 individual glass elements suspended in cascading amber tones, creating both an architectural feature and a sculptural focal point within the boutique.
Throughout the space, private seating areas and intimate display salons allow clients to experience Bulgari’s most recognisable collections, including Serpenti, Divas’ Dream, Tubogas, B.Zero1 and Octo, in a setting designed for conversation and discovery.
A Continued Investment in the U.S. Luxury Market
Now several months since opening, the Rodeo Drive flagship has firmly established itself within the landscape of Beverly Hills luxury retail. More than a simple boutique relocation, the project represents Bulgari’s broader strategy of using architecture and design to express the identity of the maison.
The timing also reflects the continued strength of high jewellery within the luxury sector. Increasingly, collectors view jewellery not only as adornment but as a long term asset carrying emotional and generational value.
In Beverly Hills, Bulgari has translated that perspective into a flagship that merges Roman heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary retail design. Just months after its debut, the boutique stands as one of the most distinctive new additions to Rodeo Drive and a clear statement of the maison’s ambitions in the United States.
