Amangati Sets Sail in May 2027

Aman’s first ocean-going yacht marks a major new chapter for the luxury hospitality brand

Aman is preparing to take its distinctive approach to hospitality beyond land, with Amangati set to begin its inaugural season in May 2027.

The 180-metre motor yacht recently reached a major construction milestone after floating out at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, signalling the completion of its exterior build. Attention will now turn to the yacht’s interiors, final outfitting and sea trials ahead of its maiden voyage.

Amangati is scheduled to welcome its first guests on 7 May 2027, departing Palma de Mallorca for a six-night journey to Nice.

For Aman, the launch represents far more than an entry into luxury cruising. It brings the brand’s established focus on privacy, space and highly personalised service to a new setting, creating an experience designed to feel closer to a private yacht than a conventional cruise ship.

A New Expression of Aman

The name Amangati translates from Sanskrit as “peaceful motion”, a fitting direction for a vessel created around slower travel and a greater sense of space.

Across nine decks, the yacht will accommodate just 94 guests in 47 ocean-facing suites. Every suite will feature its own private terrace and expansive glazing, maintaining a continuous connection to the sea throughout the journey.

A crew of 207 will support guests on board, while each suite will also have a dedicated Suite Host.

The scale is significant. Rather than maximising guest numbers, Aman is positioning Amangati around privacy and personal space, extending many of the qualities associated with its resorts into an ocean-going environment.

Life On Board

The yacht will introduce a comprehensive collection of dining, wellness and social spaces.

Four signature restaurants are planned, including Mediterranean concept Alira, Japanese restaurant Akari, Hiori for teppanyaki and Aman Grill.

Elsewhere, guests will find The Jazz Club, a cinema, Cigar Lounge and a collection of bars and lounges designed to create distinct spaces throughout the yacht.

Wellness will form a major part of the experience.

The two-storey Aman Spa will span approximately 740 square metres and is being positioned by the brand as the largest spa within luxury yachting. Eight ocean-facing treatment rooms will each include a private terrace and whirlpool, alongside a hammam, banya, fitness studio, yoga and meditation deck and Medi Spa.

At sea level, Amangati’s Marina will provide direct access to the water through two floating platforms, supported by tenders and a collection of water equipment.

The Mediterranean Comes First

Amangati’s first season will take place across the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Ionian and Aegean seas, with voyages generally ranging from five to eight nights.

The itineraries have been designed around longer stays in port, later departures and access to smaller harbours and anchorages that larger ships cannot easily reach.

Selected sailings will also align with major cultural and sporting moments, including the Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Grand Prix.

It is an approach that places the destination at the centre of the journey rather than treating it simply as a stop along the way.

Following its Mediterranean programme, Amangati is also scheduled to head to the Caribbean in autumn 2027, extending Aman at Sea into a second region during its debut year.

Aman Moves Beyond the Resort

The arrival of Amangati reflects a wider shift taking place across luxury hospitality.

Some of the world’s most recognisable hotel brands are increasingly looking beyond traditional properties, moving into private residences, branded products and luxury yachting as clients seek a more seamless lifestyle around the brands they already know.

For Aman, however, the move feels particularly aligned.

Privacy, limited guest numbers, destination-led travel and a strong emphasis on wellness have long formed part of the brand’s identity. Amangati simply moves those principles onto the water.

With its exterior now complete and the first voyage scheduled for May 2027, the countdown to Aman’s next chapter has officially begun.
