VALUSIS: The Velturion

Introducing Velturion – A Guilloché dial

A dial drawn by the desert wind, shifting with light. A case light enough to forget, and a watch made to be worn with everything from a tailored suit to a linen shirt.

A watch is the one accessory you wear every day, with everything. It should finish an outfit, not compete with it. Velturion is proportioned the way classic dress watches always were: present enough to be noticed, balanced enough to sit neatly under a cuff.

VALUSIS, the Dubai-born watch brand, is launching Velturion: a collection built around one guilloché dial. A spiral of scales, inspired by the geometry of the desert sand outside Dubai, catches the light differently with every turn of the wrist.

Chapter I is limited to the first 100 pieces of each colour. Velturion is their first ultra-light watch weighing as low as 47 grams, with collections priced between $270-$500.

A Centuries-Old Technique

Guilloché is a world-renowned art, born in the 16th-century European workshops. It decorated the famous Fabergé eggs, and Breguet was among the first to bring it to the watch dial, in 1786. For centuries it has been a mark of fine craftsmanship, turning metal into moving light.

VALUSIS carries this heritage into the present. Velturion takes the old technique and gives it a new landscape: a unique dial, designed in Dubai, that expresses the soul of the city.

The dial does the styling. The brown sunray guilloché changes with the light, warm and bright in daylight, deeper and richer by evening, so the same watch reads differently from a morning meeting to a late dinner.

Anatomy of a Spiral

The Velturion dial is cut individually, scale by scale. A sharp cutting tool traces each arc into the surface, removing fine curls at a controlled depth, and where the arcs cross, the scales appear.

The spiral begins at the centre with the smallest scales and opens outward, each ring a little larger than the one before. The pattern follows the geometry of growth, so it keeps its rhythm all the way to the rim, like a dial slowly unfolding.

The result is a dial that never looks the same twice. As the light shifts, every scale catches it differently, and no two scales reflect it at the same angle. Turn your wrist and the light travels across the dial the way the sun moves over a dune.

Drawn by the Wind

Out beyond the Dubai skyline, the wind moves the sand every second. It lifts the grains, lays them back down in ripples, and by morning the whole dune has been redrawn by something no one sees. The pattern never repeats.

Before Dubai became a skyline, it was a horizon of sand and wind. Velturion keeps that movement on the dial. Each scale echoes one of those ripples, rising and falling in a spiral from the centre, a dune field in miniature. The wind is gone, but its pattern remains, and the light does the rest.
